1 lakh engineering seats in Haryana by 2010
NEW DELHI: The Haryana government on Friday said it would be doubling the number of "quality" engineering colleges in the state, considering the 1:3 ratio of engineering students to job availability. This would push the total number of seats to one lakh by 2010. The state government also spelt out a plan to increase the number of management and other professional institutes in the state, with the majority of them likely to come up in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonepat and Panipat. Terming these initiatives a bid to establish Haryana as India’s "show window" for technical education, CM Bhupender Singh Hooda said, "It will have a telling impact on north India is the launch of the Rajiv Gandhi Education City at Kundli in September.
