The new, centralized identification system with biometrics also increased overall security by eliminating the potential unauthorized use of access cards. The DCI deployed SmartID(TM) and EDGEPlus(TM) E400 IP-based access controllers in over 290 dental colleges across the country, and the new solution enables the DCI to both monitor their database in real-time and centrally record faculty attendance, resulting in a 50% savings in operational costs and fewer human errors.
