Being thoroughly grounded in the Social Sciences, the Department was well poised to take off – a new venture into Management Studies. The Department started a new Post-Graduate programme, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the academic year 2007-08. The Programme received an overwhelming response. This program was designed to meet the increasing demand for quality manpower in the globalised scenario. The intake capacity for an initial period was 40 seats. With implementation of OBC reservation, the course intake has been raised to 51 in the academic year 2008-09. Eligibility criterion for selection to MBA programme: * Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with not less than 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in the aggregate, taking into account the marks scored in all subjects of all the University Examinations conducted during the entire prescribed period of the degree programme.
