AUTHOR INTERNSHIP 2010 – NSEF
The Internships Program of NSEF seeks to create an awareness of the various opportunities in the development sector by connecting the interns to an immersion experience. The internship will broaden their perspective of the development sector while providing them a platform to get hands-on experience in the social sector. The internship will be a highly entrepreneurial experience challenging them to come up with innovative solutions to meet the challenges of the development sector. Interns will get an opportunity to network with eminent thought leaders, social entrepreneurs and development experts. Scenario: Raju owns 5 hectares of land in India, yet works as a daily wage laborer. His earnings are barely sufficient to afford a meal a day for his family of 7. Problem: Raju’s problem like that of his villagers is of irrigation. The villagers are unable to pay for the expensive irrigation facilities that reach his village.
