State mulls engg seats sans JEE
KOLKATA: If you have scored more than 50% (aggregate) with physics, chemistry and mathematics in the higher secondary examination and not found your name on the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations merit list, then do not lose heart. For, you may get a seat in one of the private engineering colleges of the state. On Wednesday, director of technical education, Sajal Dasgupta, said his department was mulling the possibility of providing an opportunity to students who have scored more than 50% in HS with science subjects but failed to get a JEE rank to study engineering. "There are students who score high in WBJEE but fare badly in HS. Similarly, there are those who score good marks in HS, and yet don't get a rank in WBJEE.
