DTU to use AIEEE score for admitting students

New Delhi: Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), will be admitting students for its 14 full-time B.Tech programs, on the basis of merit rank of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) - 2010 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on April 25. The undergraduate engineering (B. Tech.) courses at DTU are available in the disciplines of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Polymer Science and Chemical Technology, Information Technology, Bio-Technology, Software Engineering, Engineering Physics, Automobile Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. DTU ties-up with Lockheed for Unmanned Aircraft System

New Delhi: New Delhi: The Delhi Technological University (DTU) has entered into an agreement with the internationally renowned Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, United States for the development of a next-generation Urban Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). The tie-up was announced by Founder Vice Chancellor of DTU, Prof. P.B. Sharma and Dr. Ray O Johnson, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Lockheed Martin Corporation, in the capital recently. Lockheed Martin is a multinational aerospace manufacturer, global security and advanced technology company based in Maryland, US. The corporation will provide grant to the student group of DTU with Lockheed Martin-generated design space to structure their efforts. The team will be required to conduct initial design and then developing a flying prototype. l l New Delhi: Prof. P.B. Sharma has been appointed as the First Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE). Prof. Sharma was appointed by Lt. Governor of Delhi Mr. Tejendra Khanna, also Chancellor of DTU and an order to this effect was issued today by Mr. V.K. Jain, Addl. Secretary, Department of Training and Technical Education, Govt. of NCT Delhi. The upgradation of DCE into DTU has been through to an Act enacted by Delhi Assembly, Delhi Act 6 of 2009 which came into force on July 15th, 2009. Prof. Sharma is a renowned academician who has steered DCE for the last two decades and brought it to its eminent position. A Doctorate from Birmingham, Prof. Sharma is a former Professor of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) and has been the founder Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal.
