33,000 from Pune take MH-CET exam
Around 33,000 students from different parts of the district appeared for the Maharashtra common entrance test (MH-CET) on Thursday to seek admissions to engineering, medical and pharmacy colleges in the state. The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER) is authorised by the state government to conduct this examination. Speaking resident deputy collector Anil Pawar said, “Around 33,000 aspirants from across the district appeared for this examination in 74 centres spread across the city. The examination went off peacefully at all centres.” The number of candidates appearing from Pune has increased from 30,726 last year to nearly 33,000 this year. After clearing MH-CET, the students can enrol themselves in degree courses in government medical colleges, engineering colleges and pharmacy colleges in the state.
