One from IIT-D and two from Bangalore score 100 percentile in CAT
New Delhi: As the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) announced yesterday, it brings cheers to many students. Three students, one from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) and two from Bangalore have scored 100 percentile in CAT. For around 2000 seats in Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), 2.76 lakh students appeared for the Common Admission Test held on November 16, 2008 across the country. Due to implementation of 10 percent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), the number of seats has increased from this year. Adopting a new feature this year the IIM-Ahmedabad is giving priority to consistent good performance in academics rather than good percentile in results. There is no common cut off for every section. Each IIM will analyze the results independently and come out with different cut-offs. "It might be the reason behind IIM Shillong giving priority to students having scores less than 90 percentile," said a student from IIT-D. All shortlist...
