IIT Guwahati
Overlooking the majestic Brahmaputra, IIT Guwahati is strategically situated on a sprawling 285 hectares of land that is 20 kms away from the heart of the city. It was established in 1994. Indian Institute of technology Guwahati is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology if we look at the establishment of IITs chronologically, the latest being IIT Roorkee. Equipped with the state of the art infrastructure and scientific and modern instruments,IIT Guwahati has caught up with the quality of education of the rest of IITs within a surprisingly short span of time. The institute has now eleven departments that are offering various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and science disciplines.
