In England, students normally take admission into the universities and colleges from the age of 18 onwards. Most of the colleges and universities in England are state-financed except for one or two private universities. Universities and colleges in England receive funds from Higher Education Funding Council for England, which is a non-departmental public body of the Department for Education and Skills in the United Kingdom. The students opting for higher education are often provided with student’s loan, with which they can help maintain themselves.
