CET toppers prefer IITs
BANGALORE: Not a single student from among the top five CET engineering rank-holders wants to take a seat in an engineering college in Karnataka, though the choice is wide. Instead, it is the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) that draw them. Having cracked the Joint Entrance Examination, all of them stand a bright chance of getting into the IITs. Of the top 10, eight are going to IITs. For them, the Common Entrance Test (CET) was only a back-up plan. Not surprising for a country where multiple entrance tests are the order of the day. IIT-Chennai is the hotspot and the first choice for almost all of them, including top ranker Aditya Gaonkar P, who secured rank 151 in JEE. While he plans to opt for electronics, engineering physics and electricals also seem to be favourite subjects for many of them.
