Tata launches Sathya Sai Baba's education project
Hyderabad: Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata on Friday launched Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini programme of the Sathya Sai Baba Central Trust at Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. He participated in the launch programme held at Prashanti Nilayam, the headquarters of Sathya Sai Baba's empire, in Anantapur district. He also prayed at the samadhi of the spiritual guru, who died two months ago. The Tata Group is providing funds for Vidya Vahini, which is aimed at imparting quality education with the help of computers and advanced teaching equipment. The programme is being implemented in 99 schools in India and one school each in 33 countries. All the institutes are run by the Sathya Sai Baba Trust. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has developed the software for Vidya Vahini, a pet project of the late guru.
