National Mission on Education through ICT launched
Tirupati: Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Mr. Arjun Singh, launched the 'National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology' at Sri Venkateswara University here today. Launching the Mission he said that the aim of this initiative is to address the goals of access, equity and quality in higher education and attempt to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural as well as between the rich and poor strata of society. "The National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology is part of the HRD Ministry's initiatives to help the common man in his quest for education. A sum of Rs.4612 crores has been allocated for it in the 11th Plan", Arjun Singh said. Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Mrs. D.
