Govt declares 129 institutions 'Deemed-to-be-Universities
New Delhi: Replying to questions in the Rajya Sabha, D. Purandeswari Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) has said that as on 16th July, 2009, One hundred twenty-nine institutions have been declared by the Central Government, under section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956, as institutions 'Deemed-to-be-Universities'.
