IIT-B seeks feedback from students, faculty on proposed national test
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, has sought feedback from its students and faculty on the proposed national test scheme (NTS) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The letter comes close on the heels of the ministry’s initiative to launch a public opinion poll on NTS recently. It was circulated after IIT-B got requests from the MHRD to seek opinion on the issue from students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute. “A committee under the chairmanship of T Ramasami, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST), was constituted to assess the examination and admission system in engineering programmes. The committee has sought feedback from faculty, students and the general public. A questionnaire on the proposed national test scheme is available and faculty/staff/students are requested to offer feedback,” states a letter from Devang Khakhar, IIT-B director.
