ICAI approves three new Standards on Internal Audits

New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has approved three new Standards on Internal Audit (SIA). This decision was taken at a recently concluded meeting of the ICAI. The three new SIAs, approved as an important aspect in the internal audit process, are - Communication with Management, Internal Audit Evidence and Consideration of Fraud in an Internal Audit. The Standard on Communication with Management shapes some of the fundamental issues involved such as matters to be communicated to the management by the internal auditors, forms of communications, timing of communications and adequacy of the communication process. The Standard on Internal Audit Evidence deals with the fundamental postulates of internal audit such as objective of the internal audit evidence, sufficiency and appropriateness of internal audit evidence, procedures for obtaining evidence. ICAI to launch Certificate Course on Valuation

New Delhi: While appreciating the emerging diversities and complexities in valuation job, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to launch a Certificate Course on Valuation. The objective of the course is to enhance the knowledge as well as competency levels of the members of ICAI to position them as leaders in the global service market. The course is targeted at the members, either already or prospectively, in Valuation, Strategic Financial Management and Cross Border Transactions. Apart from the comprehensive theoretical aspects, the course, first of its kind in India, will sharpen the expertise and excellence of ICAI's members through multiple case studies across the industry and service sector like pharmaceuticals, retail, manufacturing, banking, insurance, valuation, mining, infrastructure, private equity valuation, and cross-border transactions.
