Cancellation of registration irks pupils
CHANDIGARH: Even after paying Rs 3,500 fees for the summer term, students of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) were barred from attending classes. Cancellation of the summer term registrations has left 12 pupils in lurch. Fourth-year student of mechanical branch Pradeep Singh said, ''We were already on the rolls and after a month, we were told about the withdrawal of our registrations. Authorities reasoned that the number of registrations were less than the required minimum.'' Pradeep rued, ''Neither can we continue with the subject we were pursuing in the summer term, nor can we chose another. 40 lectures have already been completed.'' Fourth-year mechanical engineering student Amandeep Singh said, ''Had the college authorities informed us about the cancellation on the very first day, we would have opted for some other subject.
