Eight new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas sanctioned
New Delhi: Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Arjun Singh has approved the proposal to setup eight new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in districts which have a larger concentration of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe population. The states in which the JNVs would be setup include Karnataka (Gulbarga Village & Post Office Korwar); Madhya Pradesh (Ujjain Village Pipaliya Mollu, P.O. Unhel); Gujarat (Dahod Village & Post Office Limkheda); Rajasthan (Banswara Village Mota-Tanda, P.O. Ganoda, Tehsil Gatol); Maharashtra (Nandurbar Village & Post Office Shravani, Taluka Navapur); Jharkhand (Pakur Village & Post Office Amarapara); Meghalaya (East Khasi Hills Village & P.O. Mawsynram) and Assam (Karbi Anglong Village & Post Office Pharkongchihi). The Central Government had approved, in September 2008, the opening of 20 new JNVs in 20 districts.
