CDC offers Fellowship to Engg. and MBA Students for Live Consulting Projects

Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) is an Autonomous organisation of Department of Scientific & Industrial research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India set up for promotion, development and strengthening of consultancy skills and capabilities in the country including enhancement of export of consultancy and professional services. This innovative scheme from CDC aims at providing a fellowship to B.Tech / B.E ./ MBA students to undertake a live consulting project during the education programme, to encourage capacity building and professional development in the field of consulting and to support high quality innovative live consulting projects. PM launches INSPIRE scholarship programme

New Delhi: With an aim to reach one million students and teachers in the next few years, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today launched INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research), a scholarship programme of the Department of Science & Technology (S&T). The scholarship programme, announced by the Prime Minister at the last Indian Science Congress, aims at strengthening the roots of the knowledge infrastructure in India. The underlying philosophy behind INSPIRE is based on the role that excitement, motivation, mentoring, promotion of excellence and assured career opportunities in research, play a key role in nurturing a meritorious scientist. Kerala announces 5,000 scholarships for Muslims

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government on Wednesday announced 5,000 scholarships for Muslim students. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan told reporters that the steps for the welfare of the minority community were being taken after a report was submitted by Local Administration Minister Paloly Mohammed Kutty, who studied the Sacchar Committee recommendations."We have decided to give 5,000 scholarships to Muslim students who pursue graduate and postgraduate courses. They will be eligible (to get) Rs.3,000 to Rs.5,000 every year," Achuthanandan said addressing a news conference here after the weekly cabinet meeting.Muslim's in Kerala account for 24 percent of the 32 million population."It has also been decided to set up a welfare fund and also extend pension benefits to madrassa teachers. Scholarship schemes for minorities approved

. New Delhi: The Government has approved three scholarship schemes for students belonging to minority communities of India with 30 percent earmarked for girl students. The scholarships were approved last week under the prime minister's new 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities."The minority affairs ministry has announced merit-cum-means based scholarship, post-matric scholarship and pre-matric scholarships for students from minority communities," a ministry official said.The merit-cum-means scholarship is for students going for technical and professional courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. "Under this scheme, 20,000 new scholarships will be provided every year. Already 17,182 scholarships are sanctioned to 28 states and union territories," the official said.The students of Class 11 to PhD level will be able to avail the benefits of post-matric scholarships provided by the ministry."The scholarships also cover technical and vocationa...

Goa announces Post-Matric scholarship for minority communities

Panaji: With an aim to help minority community students pursue higher education, the Government of Goa has invited applications for its Post Matric Scholarship scheme. The objective of the scheme is to award scholarship to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of Minority Communities. Students belonging to the minority communities (notified by the Central Government under Section 2© of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992) who are pursuing higher education from class XI up to the Ph.D level are eligible to apply for the scholarship. This also includes technical / vocational courses of Industrial Training Institutes / Industrial Training Centres (affiliated with NCVT / Goa University) in Government-aided institutes recognized by appropriate authority for Post Matric Scholarship to be awarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (Government of India).
