Admission notice for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm course-2011

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India competitive written test for admission to MBBS course (84 seats) in two stages PMT-2011 screening and PMT-2011 main, and BDS (38 seats), BAMS (78 seats) and B. Pharm. (33 seats) courses in one stage PMT-2011 screening

PMT-2011 screening shall be held on Sunday, the 8th May 2011 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres to screen candidates for eligibility to appear in PMT-2011 main examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 12th June 2011 at Varanasi centre only

For BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT-2011 screening only

Eligibility

Qualifications: Passed Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together

MBBS/BDS/BAMS: A minimum of 50% marks for general and 45% for general-PC candidates and 40% marks for OBC/SC/ST and respective PC candidates

B.Pharm: A minimum of 60% marks for general/OBC and respective PC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply

BDS (38 seats); General 19; OBC 10; SC 06; ST 03

BAMS (78 seats); General 36; Foreign National 03; OBC 21; SC 12; ST 06

B.Pharm (33 seats); General 17; OBC 09; SC 05; ST 02

3% seats are reserved for (PC candidates on horizontal basis in the above courses

Age: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2011 (candidates born after 1st January, 1995 and on or before 31st December, 1986 need not apply)

Sale of application form: 03rd January, 2011 to 28th February, 2011 from the designated branches of Bank of Baroda

Application Form can be obtained from Bank of Baroda, BHU Branch, SS Hospital, Varanasi up to 07th March, 2011

Application form can be obtained by cash Rs 1200/- for general/OBC and Rs 800/- for SC/ST candidates from the following branches of Bank of Baroda

Varanasi; (BHU SS Hospital Branch, Ram Katora Branch, Orderly Bazar Branch); Delhi (Parliament Street Branch, Nehru Place Branch, Chowk Shakti Nagar Branch); Kolkata (College Street Branch); Lucknow (Charbagh Branch); Hyderabad (Main Branch, ABIDS Circle); Jaipur (DCM Branch); Bhopal (TT Nagar Branch); Patna (Sri Krishnapuri); Mumbai (Shivaji Park); Chennai (Mount Road); Bhubaneswar (Main Branch (Bapuji Nagar)

By post from the office of the director (PMT-cell), Institute of medical sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005 by sending a written request through registered post along with crossed demand draft/bankers cheque (MICR only) of Rs 1300/- for general/OBC candidates and Rs 900/- for SC/ST candidates of a nationalized bank, drawn in favour of the director, Institute of medical sciences, BHU payable at Varanasi

Application form will be sent by speed/registered post. However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed demand draft/bank challan (write candidate’s name and address on the back of demand draft). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10cm´6cm size must also accompany it. Last date of requisition for PMT form by post is: 21st February, 2011

Incomplete/non-cashable draft (under amount/unsigned/ without bank code no and seal) shall not be accepted

Money order/IPO/cheque shall not be accepted under any circumstances

Application forms from the office of the director (PMT-Cell), Institute of medical sciences, BHU, Varanasi-221005 can be obtained by post only and not in person up to 21st February, 2011

Application form duly completed must be sent through registered post so as to reach the director (PMT-cell), Institute of medical sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005 latest by 09th March, 2011

Application forms received after the last date shall not be accepted

Foreign nationals are not required to appear in the PMT examination for MBBS/BAMS courses. They may seek admission through the ministry of external affairs, govt of India, New Delhi, as per the rules laid down for the purpose and their nomination must reach by Friday, the 15th July, 2011
