vStudents anxiously await Wednesday IIT results
PUNE: Science faculty students from the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) were euphoric about their results, but were on tenterhooks about Wednesday when the results of the joint entrance examination for the Indian Institutes of Technology will be declared and they will be able to decide their careers.
Gauri Deshmukh, who topped the science stream from Army Public School with 96 %, said, "My emphasis was on competitive examinations and I planned my studies accordingly. I have appeared for the IIT entrance examination and I am looking forward to the results. I put in at least five to six hours of study each day for the examinations and had joined coaching classes. My career will depend on how well I do in the entrance test."
Abhishek Pant, of DAV Public School who scored 95.2 %, said, "I have appeared for the IIT entrance exam and I am looking forward to the result. I would like to get into one of the best IITs. That will depend on how much I score." Abhishek scored full marks in mathematics in the board examinations.
Rohit Rangan, who topped the Delhi Public School with 95.4 %, said, "As the entrance test approached, I concentrated on it and tried to finish the most difficult topics so that I was prepared thoroughly for the test. I am hoping to get through in the IIT exam."
Nikhilesh Krishnakumar topped the science faculty of DAV Public School and said that he was confident of scoring 96.8 %. "I gave equal time to competitive and board examinations. I expect a similar score in the IIT entrance test as well, because my career will depend on this result."
Kaivalya Ranjan of Kendriya Vidyalaya, No. 2, who scored 90 %, said, "Board exams are just a formality because only a minimum passing percentage is considered from these exams. The entrance test matters the most and I had concentrated on the competitive exams. I am waiting for Wednesday."
