Central Board of Secondary Education AIEEE-2011 on May 1
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the All India Engineering Entrance Test (AIEEE) - 2011 will be conducted on May 1, 2011.
The test is conducted by the CBSE for ad mission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in National Institute of Technologies (NITs), the Indian Institutes of Information Technologies (IIITs), centrally funded institutions, deemed universities and institutions in states and union territories, excluding the ones covered by the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE-2011 is that the candidate must have passed the final examination of Class XII or its equivalent qualifying examination with 50% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PH category candidates.
Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE - 2011 provisionally. Candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) in 2012 or passed in 2008 or before are not eligible to appear in AIEEE-2011.
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1986 are eligible. However in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Challenged candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by five years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01, 1981 are eligible.
The information bulletin containing the application form and other details will be available for sale from December 22, 2012 from designated branches of Syndicate/other Banks/Institutions and the regional offices of CBSE listed in notice.
The application can also be submitted online through the Board's AIEEE official website.
The last date for the sale and submission of application forms to CBSE in January 20, 2011.
