India's richest man unveils university project

The university project reflects his belief that access to world-class education for aspiring young Indians is a prerequisite to building a strong India.

Ambani, executive chairman of India’s largest private-sector company, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), made the announcement when he received a special award in Mumbai earlier this month from the University of Pennsylvania.

The new university will be established through the Reliance Foundation, a philanthropic arm of Reliance Industries that Ambani unveiled at the company’s annual general meeting just over two months ago.
