Karnataka Examinations Authority invites applications for CET-2009

Bangalore: The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has invited applications for Common Entrance Test (CET), 2009 for the admission to the 1st year courses.

CET will be conducted on April 29, 2009 by the Karnataka Examinations Authority for the admission into the following courses:

1. Medical/Dental courses
2. Ayurveda/Homeopathy/ Unani/ Naturopathy and Yoga courses
3. Engineering/Technology courses
4. Architecture course

Aspirants of CET should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination.

Students can obtain the brochure cum application form through the schools / colleges located within the State of Karnataka by submitting Demand Draft for Rs.550/- to the Principals in advance drawn in favour of "The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore", payable at Bangalore and Rs.400/- for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-1.

Kannada Language Test, Only For:
Gadinadu Kannadiga Candidates: 11.00 a.m.
Horanadu Kannadiga Candidates: 01.00 p.m.

The last date for submission of Demand Draft to the Principal of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be 10-02-2009.

Hope and jobs for students at Delhi University's job fair

New Delhi: At a time jobs are becoming scarce and pink slips the order of the day with the global meltdown, there is reason to cheer. Delhi University's newly-launched Central Placement Cell has provided jobs to at least 200 undergraduate students with major companies, including IT major Wipro, pharma giant Ranbaxy and BPO major Genpact. The first phase of recruitment took place between Dec 8 and 10 in which around 154 students got employment. The second phase, which began Jan 21 and ended on Tuesday, ensured jobs to 45 applicants, while 440 short-listed students are awaiting results of their applications. "Around 4,564 students from 48 colleges participated in this job fair in which around 200 students have been ensured good position in top companies. The response of the students was good," Seema M.
