Virtual labs to come up at IIT-B
Mumbai: Here is good news for the students of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) as the institute is going to establish virtual labs.
The virtual labs will be established by the Centre for Distance Engineering Education Programme (CDEEP) at the institute.
Students will soon be able to conduct several difficult and complex experiments through virtual labs sitting in the class or even in their hostels.
Prof. Kannan M. Moudgalya, Head of CDEEP said, "We are in the stage of experimentation. The idea is to create labs wherein the operation takes place through the internet while the actual equipment is located at a remote place."
The labs will facilitate students or the faculty members to conduct the same experiment from multiple locations at the same time.
