City girl tops All-India PMT exams
CHANDIGARH: City girl Harsimar Kaur was fast asleep when her chemistry teacher called to tell her that she had topped the All-India PMT examination conducted by the CBSE. The result was announced on Monday late evening. It was around 10.30pm when the cellphone rang in house number 1246 in Sector 43, prompting Harsimar's family members to erupt into ecstasy. "I was expecting a rank among top 50 but bagging first position was a big surprise. It took me some time to realise I had actually topped in the country," said Harsimar (17) who wants to be a cardiologist. Her parents — Ravinderjeet Kaur and Manmeet Singh — are planning to celebrate their daughter's success on Tuesday. Ravinderjeet, who is an employed with the LIC, said her daughter's achievement has again proved that girls are no less than boys.
