Medical Education Dept asks VYAPAM to hold PMT in June
Bhopal: In direct contravention of Supreme Court’s order asking for the completion of admissions to the state’s medical colleges before July 15, it is feared that even the Pre Medical Test (PMT) entrance exam will not be held by that date.
The Medical Education Department has been late in framing the rules for conducting the exam which is the reason for the delay. Now the department is asking VYAPAM to conduct the exam in June and declare the results by July 15. The departments Principal Secretary, in his letter, has asked VYAPAM to hold the exam and declare the result before July 15 as per Supreme Court’s order.
VYAPAM, on the other hand says that it would be very difficult to conduct exams in such a short period. The Medical Education department had given the rules for conducting the examination to VYAPAM only in the month of May and it usually takes two months preparation to conduct the exam. Therefore it appears very unlikely that PMT will be held before the last week of July this time.
