Indian Air Force invites enterprising and adventurous men to join the Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers in Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches

Registration for online applications will open on 10th December, 2012 and will be closed on 08th January, 2013

Applications are invited from Male Indian citizens as per Citizenship Act 1955 for the following courses commencing in January 2014/July 2014 for Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent/Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty branches

Eligibility Criteria

Flying Branch (13 SSC Course)

Age: 19 to 23 years as on 01st January, 2014 (born between 02nd January, 1991 to 01st January, 1995) both dates inclusive

Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (Indian) is relaxable upto 25 years (born between 02nd January, 1989 to 01st January, 1995) both dates inclusive

Educational Qualifications: Graduates (minimum 3 years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level or B.E./B.Tech degree (4 year course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

Candidates who have failed the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) in an earlier attempt or a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be eligible to apply

Technical Branch (84 AEC/56 SSC Courses)

Age: 18 to 28 years as on 01st January, 2014 (born between 02nd January, 1986 to 01st January, 1996) both dates inclusive

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) AE (L): Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized university or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate membership examination of the institute of electronics and telecommunication engineers by actual studies

All candidates applying for AE (L) branch should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) AE (M): Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized university or cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies

All candidates applying for AE (M) branch should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

UES-2014 Entry

Age: 18 to 28 years as on 01st July, 2014 (born between 02nd July, 1986 to 01st July, 1996) both dates inclusive

Aeronautical Engineers (Electronics) AE (L): Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they are presently in their pre-final year of four year B.E./B.Tech degree qualification from a recognized university

All candidates applying for AE (L) branch should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) AE (M): Candidates applying for AE(M) branch would be eligible if they are presently in their Pre-final year of four year B.E./B.Tech degree qualification from a recognized university

All candidates applying for AE (M) branch should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

Ground Duty Branch (135 GDOC/28 SSC Courses)

Age (as on 01st January, 2014): Graduate, 20 to 23 years (born between 02nd January, 1991 to 01st January, 1994) both dates inclusive; Post Graduate/LLB (five years integrated course), 20 to 25 years (born between 02nd January, 1989 to 01st January, 1994) both dates inclusive; LLB (3 years after graduation), 20 to 26 years (born between 02nd January, 1988 to 01st January, 1994) both dates inclusive; M.Ed/Ph.D/CA/ICWA, 20 to 27 years (born between 02nd January, 1987 to 01st January, 1994) both dates inclusive

Administration and Logistics: Graduate degree (minimum 3 years degree course) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or a post graduate degree/equivalent diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together

Accounts: Graduate degree in commerce (B.Com) (minimum 3 year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or post graduate degree in commerce (M.Com)/ CA/ICWA with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together

Education: Post graduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together

Candidates appearing in final year/semester examinations may apply for all courses commencing in January 2014 provided they fulfil the following conditions; candidates should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together upto the last semester/year for which results have been declared at the time of applying/AFSB testing; candidates should be able to provide provisional/original degree certificate issued by university latest by 15th December, 2013

Selection Procedure: All applicants whose applications have been submitted by due date will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) to be conducted on 24th February, 2013, Sunday

All the selection related communication regarding information on AFCAT and AFSB testing would be communicated to the candidates through E-mail at their registered E-mail IDs or through IAF career website www.careerairforce.nic.in

Candidates who are short listed on the basis of Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi

The testing would consist of three stages

Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests will be conducted on the first day

Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing

All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for

Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself

Stage-II testing consisting of Psychological test, group tests and interview will be conducted on subsequent days (4 days)

Candidates recommended after Stage-II testing for flying branch would be administered Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) based on their choice of branch/eligibility

Medical examination will be conducted at AFCME, New Delhi or IAM Bengaluru based on the recommendations at AFSB

Candidates recommended by the AFSBs and declared medically fit will be detailed for training in the order of all India merit list depending on the number of vacancies available in various branches/sub branches

Grant of PC/SSC in Technical and Group Duty branches would be based on number of vacancies, performance in the selection process and the choice given the candidate/Airmen
