Undergraduate Courses Admission-2012

Applications are invited from female candidates from a recognized Board/Council qualifying Higher Secondary or equivalent (10+2) examination in prescribed forms Rs 30/- for general and Rs 15/- for SC/ST/PH candidate available at Calcutta University sales counter of College Street Campus for admission to the following courses
Alternatively application form can be downloaded from the University websites and necessary application fee Rs 30/- for General and Rs 15/- for SC/ST/PH student for each application is to be deposited in cash at Calcutta University cash counter through Calcutta University cash challan at the time of submission of application forms
B.Sc (Hons) in Food and Nutrition: Subject qualified at higher secondary level Chemistry
B.Sc (Hons) in Human Development: Subjects qualified at higher secondary level Sociology/Psychology/ Education/Home Management/Physics and Chemistry/Chemistry and Biology
B.A. General Course: Subject qualified at higher secondary from any stream
B.Sc General Course: Subject qualified at higher secondary from any stream
For admission to the Hons course 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination; or
55% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination; or
50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied
Eligibility to apply for SC/ST candidates in both Hons courses 40% marks in (10+2)
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST candidates is 22% and 6% respectively
A SC/ST student getting admission should have marks in previous examination which are not lower by more than 25% from the marks obtained by the last candidate of the general category (as per decision of the Syndicate)
Candidates are advised to write SC/ST (in bold letters) at the top of the application form
Reservation for Physically Handicapped students will be 3% as per University rule
Application Form: Single application form is to be used for admission to both (Hons) courses (if eligible)
Separate application should be used for admission to Hons and General Courses
Attested copies of mark sheet of Higher Secondary examination (10+2) and attested copy of age proof certificate (admit card of Madhyamik examination) and attested copies of SC/ST certificate (if applicable) must enclose with application form
Application Submission: Applications are to be submitted along with attested copies of Madhyamik Admit Card and Higher Secondary marksheet in the office of the Secretary, Department of Home science, Calcutta University, VL College Campus at 20B Judges Court Road, Alipore, Kolkata-700027, between 11.00 a.m. to 02.00 p.m. and 03.00 p.m. to 04.00 p.m.
Mark sheet in original should be shown during submission of forms
Selection: Selection of candidates applied for General Course will be made on first come first serve basis and for admission to B.Sc Human Development Hons Course the merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained of the best four subjects in 10+2 examination
For admission to B.Sc Food and Nutrition Hons Course the merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks of the best four subjects along with the marks obtained in chemistry paper in 10+2 examination
In each case marks obtained in EVS will not be considered for preparation of the merit list
List of the selected students will be put up on the notice board of Home Science, 20B Judges Court Road, Alipore, Kolkata-27 in due course and no intimation will be sent to any individual students
