M.Sc Nursing Admission-2012

Admission to the M.Sc Nursing Programme of this college is made according to the rules and regulations of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and of the Govt as may be applicable to this college

The following courses for the degree of Master of Science in Nursing are offered at the college of Nursing of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, a Christian Minority institution

The Post Graduate seats for M.Sc Nursing are distributed as per the following categories, Open Category and Society Sponsored

M.Sc Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing (2 open category), (2 society sponsored)
M.Sc Medical Surgical Nursing (3 open category), (2 society sponsored)
Community Health Nursing (3 open category), (2 society sponsored)
Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing (2 open category), (3 society sponsored)
Child Health (Paediatric) Nursing (2 open category), (3 society sponsored)
Each course runs for two years

Seats: There are 24 seats for men and women

Foreign Nationals may apply but application must be through Govt of India as per rules

Any seat falling vacant in society sponsored category will be filled from the open category and vice versa

All admissions are made on merit secured in the admission test, viva voce and additional marks if any

Sponsored Candidates: All applicants eligible as per due service and desirous of sponsorship may apply to one of the sponsoring agencies of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society

Such candidates will be sponsored after minimum of 2 years of service in CMC or related Mission Hospitals of the society

A sponsored Christian candidate is required to submit photocopies of the following certificates along with the application to be considered in this category; Baptism certificate; Confirmation certificate (if applicable); Letter from the Pastor regarding Church Membership, with date and denomination of the Church with address (in the prescribed format); Sponsorship letter from church/body

All candidates sponsored by the Christian Medical College Society for M.Sc Nursing in the sponsored category, are required to enter into a service agreement with Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, without which admission will not be granted

Service obligation is for a period of 2 years and is to be undertaken after completion of the course in a hospital or in an institution managed by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society or its member Body/Church

Sponsored candidates are eligible for financial assistance and should contact the Registrar for the same

Age: No applicant older than 55 years (born before 31st December, 1957) may apply for the M.Sc Nursing Programme

Educational Qualification: In order to be eligible to apply for admission to the M.Sc Nursing course of this college, an applicant must have passed one of the following examinations obtaining at least 55% marks in the aggregate

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot/ Panjab University, Chandigarh; or

B.Sc Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot/Panjab University, Chandigarh; or

Any other B.Sc Nursing examination recognised by the Syndicate of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences

An applicant shall apply to the Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Kotkapura Road, Faridkot-151203, Punjab for an eligibility certificate, if applicable

Post Basic B.Sc (IGNOU) only from centers recognized by the Indian Nursing Council

Minimum one year work experience in Bed side Nursing/ Public Health Nursing/ Teaching after declaration of Final result of B.Sc Nursing or prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc Nursing before 26th July, 2012 (date of counselling)

If a candidate is currently employed, a No Objection Certificate from the employer will be required

Each applicant must provide three copies of his/her recent photograph, taken in a photo-studio, passport size, which must clearly show full face, head and shoulder only

One photograph should be pasted on the application form

Two photographs should have the applicant’s name written clearly in English on the back of each photograph to be attached to the form

How to apply: Prospectus and application form for M.Sc Nursing programme for July, 2012 may be obtained at the counter of the Accounts office of the CMC Hospital on cash payment of Rs 1100/- (Rs one thousand one hundred only) from 25th May, 2012 to 04th July, 2012 and by post (Speed post/Registered post) up to 30th June, 2012 by sending crossed bank draft for Rs 1200/- (Rs twelve hundred only)

Draft should be made payable to Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society drawn on any scheduled bank, payable at Ludhiana

Money order, postal order and cheques are not acceptable

Applicant should send the draft to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana-141008, Punjab along with a covering letter stating the complete address of the applicant including pin code and mobile/ phone number

The form fee of Rs 1100/- has to be added to the application fee of Rs 1500/- (Rs 2600/-) if downloaded form is being sent

Last date of receipt of application along with enclosures in the Registrar’s office is 06th July, 2012 by 05.00 p.m.

Application Fee: The application fee is Rs 1500/- (Rs one thousand five hundred only) to be paid in Bank demand draft payable to Christian Medical College, Ludhiana Society drawn on any scheduled bank, payable at Ludhiana

The application fee once paid is not refundable

Application Submission: Application form completed in block letters with a photograph attached and signed by the applicant

Bank demand draft for application fee Rs 1500/-

Two copies of recent photograph of the applicant, passport size, full face, head and shoulders only

Applicant’s name should be written clearly in English on the back of each photograph not on front

Photo copies of Matriculation/10th class certificate containing date of birth and detailed marks sheet

B.Sc Nursing Post-Basic/Basic or equivalent degree certificate, detail marks sheets of the whole course

Migration certificate from those applicants who have their qualifying certificates from Universities other than Baba Farid University of Health Sciences

Eligibility certificate for candidates from Universities out of India

One year experience certificate in Bed-side Nursing and/or Community Health Nursing teaching experience before 26th July, 2012

Registration certificate as Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or Short Course Certificate in lieu of Midwifery

Recent Domicile certificate
No Objection Certificate from the Employer (if applicable)

Baptism Certificate, Confirmation Certificate (if applicable) and letter from the Pastor about Church membership

Denomination of Church with address, sponsorship letter from church/body (for Sponsored Candidates only)

TNAI membership card

Place application form and all the enclosures in the envelope provided and submit the sealed envelope to the Office of the Registrar or send it by registered post/speed post to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana-141008, Punjab

The last date of submission of the completed application form, along with enclosures to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana is 06th July, 2012

No application will be accepted after 5.00 p.m. on 06th July, 2012
Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery or receipt

No alterations can be made to any of the information provided on application form once it has been submitted

If the application is submitted to the Registrar’s Office by hand or courier service, a receipt should be obtained from the office of the Registrar

Admission Test

Written Test: objective type and multiple choice questions based on B.Sc Nursing Syllabus prescribed by Nursing Council of India for maximum of 180 marks

The test will be held in College of Nursing, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana on 10th July, 2011

An applicant should obtain at least 45% marks in written test in order to be eligible to be considered for admission, which will be as per the merit in the final result

Admit Card: Admit card may be collected from the office of the Registrar on 10th July, 2012, 08.00 am to 09.30 a.m.

Provisional merit list will be put on the Notice Board of the Registrar’s Office, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana on or before 12th July, 2012
