M.Tech Admission-2012

IES College of Engineering, estd in 2003, is a private self financing engineering college affiliated to the Calicut University, Kerala, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi

M.Tech: Geotechnical Engineering

The M.Tech degree programme in Geotechnical Engineering offered by the Dept of Civil Engineering of IES College of Engineering, is approved by the AICTE and affiliated to University of Calicut, Kerala

The courses leading to the degree of Master of Technology will span a period of four semesters (2 years)

The span of a semester will be six months including the university examination

Eligibility Criteria: Eligibility will be subject to the rules and regulations of Calicut University/AICTE

The candidates shall be citizen of India

The candidates shall have acquired the B.Tech/B.E./equivalent qualification from an institution approved by the AICTE and Calicut University

Candidates with valid GATE score at least 60% marks in B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering

For SC/ST candidates a pass in the above mentioned degrees is sufficient

Candidates who have appeared for the final examination of any of the qualifying examination may also apply provided their results are made available at the time of admission

Candidates who have degrees awarded from Universities other than Calicut University shall submit eligibility certificate from Calicut University as well as migration certificate at the time of admission

Seats: 18 (Govt quota 50% of the seats)

Admission will be on the basis of merit, gate score, and test/interview

Sponsored candidates from Industry/Academic institutions, will also be considered for admission (Sponsored candidates should have minimum of two years post qualification professional experience)

How to apply: Application may be submitted in the form available at college office on payment of Rs 500/- by cash

The same can be downloaded from the college website www.iesce.info

Applications have to be accompanied by self attested copies of the required documents

Please attach demand draft for Rs 550/- (Rs five hundred only) drawn in favour of IES College of Engineering payable at Thrissur along with the downloaded application form

The application form along with the self attested copies of the required documents is to be forwarded to the college office either in person or by post

Copies of documents to be submitted along with the applications form, qualifying examination certificate/ provisional certificate and mark lists, GATE score card (for candidates with valid Gate score), Community certificate issued by the competent authority for candidates claiming eligibility for reservation under SC/ST quota, Proof of date of birth, Sponsorship certificate from the competent authority in the prescribed format (for sponsored candidates), Experience certificate (if applicable)

Incomplete applications or those not accompanied by supporting documents will be summarily rejected

Last date to submit filled in application along with copies of all certificates is 15th June, 2012

Selection Procedure: The selection of the candidate will be based on the valid GATE score

If sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available, the selection will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the test conducted by the college

Candidates who have completed the Bachelor’s degree at IES will be eligible for 5% weightage in calculating index mark/merit

Candidates have to undergo a personal interview

Sponsored candidates having more than 2 years experience will be given extra weightage based on their experience subject to a maximum of 5 marks out of 100

Candidates with a minimum of two years teaching experience at IES shall be eligible for 15% weightage in the index mark/merit

Merit list for the different categories will be published in the website www.iesce.info / college notice boards

Selection will be strictly on the basis of merit

Candidates are requested to visit the college website www.iesce.info regularly for recent updates

No individual communication will be sent in this regard

Selected candidate shall take admission at the appointed time after paying the tuition fees and other fees including those to be paid to the University

Transfer certificate issued from the institution last attended must be produced at the time of admission

Selected candidates are required to deposit their original certificates at the College office at the time of admission
