Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology (PGDFP) Admission-2012

This course is one year Professional Course divided into two semesters
This course is based Theoretical and Practical inputs in various domains of Forensic Psychology and related disciplines
After completion of the course a trainee is expected to have expertise in the areas of, Assisting in Forensic Psychological Assessment of Forensic Cases, Assisting in Crime Investigation, working with suspects and convicts, Able to understand Psychological Principles and its application in the field
Duration: One year full time (two semesters)
Seats: 20 (10 seats will be open, 05 seats will be for Govt, NRI seats 05)
However, if the NRI seat remains vacant, other candidates can be inducted
Government in-service personnel, who have been working as investigating officers with minimum 5 years experience, not below the rank of superintendent of Police
Tuition Fees: INR 15,000/- (Rs fifteen thousand only)/semester plus other GFSU fees as applicable
For NRI candidates INR 30,000/- (Rs thirty thousand only)/semester or equivalent US$ plus other GFSU fees as applicable
Eligibility: M.A./M.Sc in Psychology/M.Psy in Clinical Psychology from any recognized university
Admission Procedure: Admission will be given on the basis of an entrance examination consisting of written test of 100 marks (MCQ 50, 1 hour) conducted by GFSU
List of candidates selected/admitted will be displayed on the website www.gfsu.edu.in and will be informed through email and phone calls
Application Form: Duly filled application form (to be downloaded from the university website www.gfsu.edu.in) with a demand draft of Rs 1000/- (non-refundable), in favor of the Registrar, Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, payable at Gandhinagar should reach to the Registrar, Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, DFS Campus, Near Police Bhavan, Sector-18/A, Gandhinagar, Gujarat-382007 on or before 23rd July, 2012
The copies of the documents must be attached with the application form; Copy of final mark sheet of M.A./M.Sc (as per entry requirement); Copy of School leaving certificate; Duly filled admit card (original); Copy of cast certificate
Entrance Examination Venue: Gujarat Forensic Sciences University Campus, Near Police Bhavan, Sector-18/A, Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 17th August 2012, 11.00 a.m. onwards
Original entrance documents should be produced at the time of entrance examination
The candidates who have appeared in the final examination of qualification may also submit their application forms

Overseas Muslims' forum honours Muslim students in India

Agra: The American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) has honoured 77 Muslim students from across the country for educational excellence in Class 10 and 12 examinations as part of its mission to boost education among the minority community. The students, from 18 states, were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals at the annual convention of the federation by Haryana Governor A.R. Kidwai late on Saturday evening. The AFMI is a north America-based grassroots organisation to advance the cause of Muslims and other underprivileged masses in India.
