M.Tech Admission 2012-2013

Applications in prescribed form are invited for admission to the Master of Technology (M.Tech) courses in Agricultural Engineering (for the specialization in Water Resources Development and Management, Aquacultural Engineering, Farm Machinery & Power Engineering, Food Process Engineering) and in Information Technology under Triguna Sen School of Technology, Assam University, Silchar HQ for the academic session commencing in July, 2012

Dept of Agricultural Engineering

M.Tech (4 semesters) Courses: Candidates should have to obtain at least 50% marks in B.Tech/B.E. (Agricultural Engineering/Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Renewable Energy/Food Technology or relevant fields) or equivalent degrees

Dept of Information Technology

M.Tech (4 semesters) Courses: Candidates should have to obtain at least 50% marks in B.E./B.Tech in IT/CSE or relevant fields or equivalent degrees

The candidates who have appeared in final semester examination of Assam University or any other recognized university/institute may also apply for admission to M.Tech Courses

However, they have to produce the pass certificate latest by 31st October, 2012

For admission to the M.Tech courses in the University, the candidates have to qualify through Admission
Test conducted by the Departments as per the University norms

Preference will be given to the candidates having valid GATE/ICAR score

The fee structure of the M.Tech courses is same as the fee structure published in the prospectus

Application Form: Candidates may collect prospectus along with application form for the courses on payment of Rs 600/- (for General/OBC students) and Rs 500/- (for SC/ST students) from the Assam University cash counter, SBI Dorgokona Branch and office of Diphu Campus, AUS, on working days upto 02.00 p.m.

The form may also be downloaded from university website www.aus.ac.in and submitted along with an application fee of Rs 600/- (for General/OBC students) and Rs 500/- (for SC/ST students) through demand draft/ Banker Cheque in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar payable at Silchar

The prospectus will be available for sale till 15th June, 2012 at the above mentioned places

Separate application should be submitted for each course

Candidates in person may submit their duly filled in application form in boxes placed at the Raja Rammohan Roy Administrative Building Room No-4, Assam University, Silchar upto 15th June, 2012

Applicants may send their applications by post, addressed to the Registrar, Assam University, Silchar-788011

The envelope should be super scribed as Application for Admission to M.Tech (AE) or M.Tech (IT)

Last date of receipt of admission form: 15th June, 2012

Date of publication of list of eligible candidates for written test: 05th July, 2012

Issue of admit card to the candidates: 06th-08th July, 2012, upto 11.00 a.m.

Admission test date: 08th July, 2012

Personal Interview: 09th July, 2012

Display of list of provisionally selected candidates: 13th July, 2012

Date of admission: 13th July, 2012 to 17th July, 2012

Display of provisionally selected candidate from waitlist: 18th July, 2012

Admission test center: Admission test for M.Tech courses will be conducted at Silchar, HQ only
