USIM – 2nd Annual Health Conference 2011 – MALAYSIA

Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM) or formerly known as Islamic University College of Malaysia (KUIM) is the 12th Public Higher Education Institution (IPTA) in Malaysia. KUIM was approved by the Cabinet on 11 June 1997 and made public on 13 March 1998. KUIM started its operations in January 2000 at 5th Floor, Faculty of Islamic Studies Building, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi. The first enrolment for KUIM began on 18 June 2000 in our temporary location at Institut Professional Baitulmal (IPB), Kuala Lumpur. In January 2002, KUIM moved to another temporary campus in Tower A and B, Persiaran MPAJ, Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur. Currently, KUIM is operating in stages at a permanent campus in Bandar Baru Nilai starting 15 July 2005. KUIM was officially upgraded to USIM on 1 February 2007, in line with the government’s aim to upgrade the development of higher education to an international level.

Who Should Attend : Medical doctors, health practitioner, allied health, traditional and complementary medicine (T&CM) practitioner, medical students and anyone interested to update their knowledge in medicine and T&CM.

Why Should You Attend : The Conference is suitable for everyone interested in health care and traditional and complementary medicine (T&CM). There are more than 20 interesting topics covering various disciplines of medicine and T&CM which will be delivered by speakers who are expert and well known in their fields.

Calling for Papers : Abstract submission deadline is on 31 December 2010. All abstract should have a 300 words limit for text not including presenter information and title. Structure for an abstract should include Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion and Recommendations. Abstracts must be submitted in ENGLISH.

Hope and jobs for students at Delhi University's job fair

New Delhi: At a time jobs are becoming scarce and pink slips the order of the day with the global meltdown, there is reason to cheer. Delhi University's newly-launched Central Placement Cell has provided jobs to at least 200 undergraduate students with major companies, including IT major Wipro, pharma giant Ranbaxy and BPO major Genpact. The first phase of recruitment took place between Dec 8 and 10 in which around 154 students got employment. The second phase, which began Jan 21 and ended on Tuesday, ensured jobs to 45 applicants, while 440 short-listed students are awaiting results of their applications. "Around 4,564 students from 48 colleges participated in this job fair in which around 200 students have been ensured good position in top companies. The response of the students was good," Seema M.
