JAYAWANT INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS STUDIES – PGDM ADMISSION 2010 – PUNE

The PGDM program of JIBS is designed to enable young professionals with high potential to reach landmark positions in their career. To achieve this, institute has developed a customized syllabus all the aspirants will be groomed under an action-oriented environment. The syllabus, which has a strong national/global perspective, prepares participants to manage, lead and succeed in the increasingly competitive business environment.

PGDM program is inspired by aligning academic theory with management practice. The real life relevance of the program is achieved through, firstly, the experienced faculty, Secondly, the academic process of JIBS and learning environment. Finally, the experience sharing by distinguished corporate professionals to reinforce theory with real world practice.
Strong emphasis will be given on developing the participant’s skills of leading and working in teams. The interactive skills of effective communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and mobilising individuals towards common goals are the essential ingredients of effective management in today’s organizations. Such personal qualities will be developed and imbibed in the participant through classroom discussions, group assignments and other team activities. Accordingly, participants will develop skills through a case-based approach and will be encouraged to analyse issues from several often conflicting viewpoints before deciding on a course of action.

Eligibility: In order to secure admission to first year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) course the following criteria is followed:

A bachelor’s degree in any faculty of any statutory university of minimum 3 years duration with 50% or more marks (45% or more marks for students belonging to backward classes) recognized by Association of Indian University. OR
Appeared for the final year examination of any bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration recognized by Association of Indian Universities. Such candidate can be considered for provisional admission subject to condition that they will have to pass their degree examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 30th July 2008.

Candidates appeared for the Common Entrance Test 2008 (Conducted by Government of Maharashtra) and their GD & PI is cleared, however these candidates are required to appear for GD & PI conducted by JSPM’s Jayawant Institute of Business Studies (JIBS) for the academic year 2008-10.

Selection Procedure: The entire selection procedure is having five components viz.,
1) Performance in Various Entrance Tests : 60 Marks ** MAT/CAT/XAT/ATMA/JMET/I-CET
2) Degree/Qualifying Examinations : 15 Marks
3) a)Group Discussion and 10 Marks b)Personal Interview. 05 Marks : 15 Marks
4) Work Experience : 05 Marks
5) Special Achievement : 05 Marks
