AUTHOR INTERNSHIP 2010 – NSEF

The Internships Program of NSEF seeks to create an awareness of the various opportunities in the development sector by connecting the interns to an immersion experience. The internship will broaden their perspective of the development sector while providing them a platform to get hands-on experience in the social sector. The internship will be a highly entrepreneurial experience challenging them to come up with innovative solutions to meet the challenges of the development sector. Interns will get an opportunity to network with eminent thought leaders, social entrepreneurs and development experts.

Scenario: Raju owns 5 hectares of land in India, yet works as a daily wage laborer. His earnings are barely sufficient to afford a meal a day for his family of 7.

Problem: Raju’s problem like that of his villagers is of irrigation. The villagers are unable to pay for the expensive irrigation facilities that reach his village.
Opportunity: NSEF Author is your opportunity to script a story and author a change in the life of hundreds of Rajus who’ll benefit from your knowledge. Tell us how you’ll author a change and we’ll give you enriching, unforgettable, life changing stories. This summer more than 12 eminent social enterprises are waiting to hear your story. A story of change waiting to happen in India.

Application Procedure: Applications for NSEF Author will be open from February 15th, 2010. The deadline to submit your entries is March 3, 2010. Please upload your resume along with the responses to essay questions after registering on the website. Maximum word limit for the essays is 500 words. All essays must be uploaded in a pdf or word document (doc or docx format). Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.

Applicants are encouraged to provide references, however failing to do so will not disqualify you. Applicants who are providing references, please include the details of your references’ Name, Contact Details (official Email), Organization, Designation, Relationship with you in your resume. Hope and jobs for students at Delhi University's job fair

New Delhi: At a time jobs are becoming scarce and pink slips the order of the day with the global meltdown, there is reason to cheer. Delhi University's newly-launched Central Placement Cell has provided jobs to at least 200 undergraduate students with major companies, including IT major Wipro, pharma giant Ranbaxy and BPO major Genpact. The first phase of recruitment took place between Dec 8 and 10 in which around 154 students got employment. The second phase, which began Jan 21 and ended on Tuesday, ensured jobs to 45 applicants, while 440 short-listed students are awaiting results of their applications. "Around 4,564 students from 48 colleges participated in this job fair in which around 200 students have been ensured good position in top companies. The response of the students was good," Seema M.
