Introduction: The conference on “Leveraging Innovation for Knowledge Economy” will address some of the existing challenges, resolve to identify problems and arrive at appropriate solutions for organizational development/human resources. This conference will also deal with vital issues such as green innovations, low income markets and social innovations, developing products and services, and above all developing relationships with the innovation systems in the country.

Objectives: Stimulation, acquisition and exploitation of innovations in Manufacturing, Medical, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Education, Agriculture areas.

Networking with R&D institutions, entrepreneurs, industrialists, policy makers, investors, bureaucrats, evangelists, etc.

Understanding the level of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) and research collaboration between Academia, Industry and the Government.
Themes: Building Knowledge Park, Changing Healthcare Market Place, Literacy & People Empowerment / Contemporary Issues in Knowledge Dissemination, Organizational Development / Human Resources, Management Issues in Innovation, Management of Renewal Resources / Green Innovations, Low Income Markets and Social Innovation, Innovation for Sustainable Development, Micro-financing Rural Innovation, Women Empowerment, Business Intelligence.

Call for Papers: Original research-based papers on the conference theme are invited. Papers will be selected for publication in the conference souvenir after review. Participants are advised to submit their papers in the prescribed format as stated under “Guidelines for papers” (available at www.innovate-india.in).

Conference Dates: 19th – 20th November, 2009

Hope and jobs for students at Delhi University's job fair

New Delhi: At a time jobs are becoming scarce and pink slips the order of the day with the global meltdown, there is reason to cheer. Delhi University's newly-launched Central Placement Cell has provided jobs to at least 200 undergraduate students with major companies, including IT major Wipro, pharma giant Ranbaxy and BPO major Genpact. The first phase of recruitment took place between Dec 8 and 10 in which around 154 students got employment. The second phase, which began Jan 21 and ended on Tuesday, ensured jobs to 45 applicants, while 440 short-listed students are awaiting results of their applications. "Around 4,564 students from 48 colleges participated in this job fair in which around 200 students have been ensured good position in top companies. The response of the students was good," Seema M.
