New hope for unemployed youths of Sikkim

Gangtok: The State Government in Gangtok has launched a professional course in Radio Jockeying (RJ) for the unemployed youths of the state.

The Information and Public Relations Department (IPR) would select 10 unemployed youths and provide them with rigorous training for three months.

The course comprises of voice culture, radio script writing, audio production, radio content creation, radio station imaging and marketing.

Another initiative taken by the state government is organizing a weeklong orientation-training programme on journalism for working journalist and educated unemployed youths in Sikkim.

The orientation programme will be held in Gangtok from March 16, 2009 and at Gyalshing in west district from March 25, 2009 onwards.
