DU conducted 86th Convocation on March 1
New Delhi: The 86th convocation of the Delhi University (DU) was conducted here on Sunday, March 1. The chief guest for the event was Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
Female students ousted male students by receiving 88 Gold medals for both graduate and postgraduate level out of 126 Gold medals. Out of other 48 medals, female students received 37 prizes and medals.
Even the maximum number of prizes received by a student was female named Ambica Anand an MSc. Statistics student of Hindu College who won three gold medals and two other prizes.
Even last year the maximum number of awards was given to the female students.
Apart from awarding the best students in the varsity, the event also witnessed 346 PhD degrees awarded except from the economics department
