Eligibility of candidates for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET)
For MBBS Courses:
- The candidate must be an Indian National. The candidate must have passed SSC or equivalent examination from Maharashtra.
- The candidate, at the time of admission, must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent examination in one and same attempt from an institution situated in the state of Maharashtra with following subjects: English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). A candidate belonging to the open category must have obtained not less than 50%. Marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) takentogether at the HSC or equivalent examination.
- A candidate belonging to backward classes (only from Maharashtra) must have obtained not less than 40% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) taken together at the HSC or equivalent examination.
Duration of the course is 4 1/2 years divided into 9 semesters of 6 months each.
Eligibility for MD/MS
There are different elgibility requirements, if:
- You have passed MBBS from a recognized medical college in Maharashtra.
- You have passed MBBS from a recognized medical college outside Maharashtra.
