Haryana to develop 25 colleges as Centres of Excellence

Chandigarh: Haryana Education Minister, Mange Ram Gupta has said that the state has identified 25 Government-aided colleges for developing them as Centres of Excellence.
He further added, to promote higher education in the state, a budget provision of Rs.430.44 crores has been made during the current financial year.
The 25 colleges to be developed as centres of excellence will have the state-of-art facilities including language laboratories, e-libraries, computer labs, auditorium and seminar halls.
The colleges will offer courses in all streams with a special emphasis on job-oriented courses, Gupta said.
Besides, computer education will also be provided to all students enrolled in these colleges.
The Haryana Government has sanctioned a total of 15,000 seats in job oriented courses in the state colleges from the current academic session.
